Ring the indoor season! There are two different groups for volleyball in Edmonton.
Recreational Volleyball is scheduled every TUESDAY beginning September 20, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at St. Catherine School, 10915-110 Street (**New place and time!**)
Intermediate Volleyball is scheduled every THURSDAY beginning on October 6, 2011 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Amiskiwiciy Academy at 101 Airport Road. (Extra time booked in March for Western Cup practice: 7:00pm to 9:30pm)
Recreational Fees:
$4 drop-in $60 - full season (26 games, $2.31/game) $35 - half season ($2.69/game)
The Recreational League is open to both men AND women and players of ALL levels of experience and is geared towards the safe and friendly enjoyment of the game.
Intermediate Fees:
Full Season $60 Oct- April
Half Seasons $40 Oct-Jan & Feb-April Drop- In $5
Student/Low Income $40
Season 1 will have set teams of mixed ability levels. Teams will be set in the third or fourth week.
Season 2 teams will be reviewed in January and may be modified accordingly.
The FTB organizers have arranged an additional 30 minutes of practice time from 7-7:30 pm in February and March for teams that plan to participate in the Western Cup. No additional fee for practice times.
In order to play on a team, players will need to pay by the October 21, 2010 deadline or make arrangements with the organizers for payments. Payments will only be processed by the Treasurer.
The intermediate league offers coaching and drills as well as opportunities to participate in inter-city tournaments. Please note that there is limited space available on the intermediate league. Organizers of the Intermediate group reserve the right to provide feedback to players regarding skill level. Players will also be evaluated by external coaches or high ranked players to ensure their skill level is at the intermediate level.
Thursday night group welcomes both men and women players. It is important to note that there is an expectation for players to know the rules to play safe at an intermediate level or be in the process of attaining that skill level. The Organizing Committee of Free to be Volleyball reserves the right to advise players regarding sportsmanship, personal conduct and skill level suitability.
Free To Be has co-ed recreational and intermediate teams.
