Edmonton’s GLBTQ community and friends and supporters are invited out to a series of sports and recreation related activities during the Edmonton Pride Festival.
-- Unfortunately due to the weather and the ground conditions, Come Out and Play Day 2011 has been cancelled
Come Out and Play Day is an annual collaboration between the organizers of the sports and recreation groups in Edmonton. On June 19th The Arctic Frontrunners and Pride Cyclists will kick off the day with a run/walk through Edmonton’s scenic river valley at 3-4pm. Following the run, there will be a free outdoor yoga class from 4-5pm Participants should bring a mat or towel and a willingness to get their chakras flowing with positive energy for chilling out with yoga. In the afternoon from 5-6pm, Pride Tennis continues while Free to Be Volleyball take to the outdoor grass courts Following the drop in volleyball game a Gay Cup Volleyball competition will be held from 6-7pm with members of the Edmonton Police Services and Free to be volleyball.
All events are open to all levels and free to the public. 9100 Walterdale Hill, next to the outdoor tennis courts.
Each activity is independently organized and coordinated by the dedicated volunteers from Arctic Frontrunners, Pride Riders, Samsara Yoga, Free to Be Volleyball, Pride Tennis, and Free To Be Volleyball. Please note that as the events are held outdoors they are all dependent upon weather.
